Q&A: I want to find a good surf camp in Costa Rica. I am a woman traveling alone.?
I know there are a bunch of surf camps on the internet; how do I know which ones are any good or not? Any recommendations? And why are the women only surf camps so much more expensive?

The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!

If you go to Tamarindo or Jaco, you’ll be able to find surf lessons. I don’t think they have formal, organized surf camps in CR. I’ve never heard of one, and I’ve been there over 30 times

There are a lot of surf camps in CR, many have language classes, eco tours etc you can view some of the good ones at the below link-

I do not think “women only” are more expensive, just some offer more than others, like room and board, rentals of boards etc and cater to more of the need. Surf Diva (http://www.ticotimes.com/detail/link-73.html) is one of the most well-known. Your best bet is to email the camp and get the info you are seeking.

I went surfing to Costa Rica last year and I found a place that had some good info about surfing. You may find it helpful in finding the surf camp.

There is a real nice surf camp in Mal Pais, about 75 meters left of the t inersectino that separates Mal Pais from santa Teresa. Great Waves, nice safe place.
