Question: I’m trying to find a descent deal on accomodations in Maui and Kauai for August, any recommendations?
Looking for a deal in a good location for our honeymoon. Something on a nice beach, maybe near surfing area. Which beach or area’s are better in Maui and Kauai? thanks.

The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!

Both island have great beaches, but Maui is busier and has more things to do. If you want the quiet side with beautiful tropical beaches, then Kauai is just right for you. If you want tons of activities and great beaches, then it is Maui. My favorite place to stay on Kauai is the Kahuna Plantation resort. but the hyatt is super nice too as well as the Sheraton Kauai. I haven’t been to Maui for several years, so I don’t want to recomend any place to you there as I could be wrong.

The best thing to do is go to your local AAA office, they found us a great deal 2 years ago.

We have been to Kauai twice, Maui once, and Oahu just for the day. I am absolutely in LOVE with Kauai. The north shore is the most beautiful place on earth. Stay in the Hanalei/Princeville area and you will not regret it. You have to hike the Kalalau Trail – or just the trail to the waterfall. It doesn’t feel like exercise at all. Nothing on Maui or the south shore of Kauai compares to the north shore of Kauai. As for lodging – we always stay at the Hanalei Bay Resort – beautiful – but if you have a large family you will get more for your money at The Cliffs or another resort. Try www.summitpacific.com for some lodging options. We have used it twice with great customer service and rates. Good luck!!
