@mynameiszac100 yo i learned to surf on a shortboard that was only 2 inches taller then me and i learned in about 1 week.
just give it a try and surf with a freind or someone who is learning.

@metalschooldrill thats what i love abou the Visayas and Mindanao, here in the philippines. Man the waves are awesome and nobody’s surfing… just me and the gang and over heads all day!!!

i learned on a shortboard
hey ur soo wrong if a bigginer couldnt start onn a short board then how did i do it? yes its true i skated a long time before i surfered but if u try and u dont give up you can learn on a short board, its not going 2 be easy, i never said it was going 2 be, it wasent easy for me but i practised for about 3 mounths and finnally i mastered it and it feels good when ur so young and you so good at something
haha, there is no way a beginner would be able to learn on a short board, you would be better off with a longer board than a shorter one if your starting off.
I’ve been surfing more than skating actually. But now with the new huge skateparks I can tell that I wish I skated as the prime sport. Skateboarding easily rules now over SoCal surfing anyways. Where the hell are u surfing to be bragging about it so badly anyways like as if your not swamped with enough crowds and a handful of waves?
I ride a Short Board now and i’m very sucseccful!!! who ever is a bigginer if you give it your all and try to go surfing whenever you have a chance go for it I Promise if you try you will be sucsessful Just have to try and to give you a little advise for bigginers try to start with a fun board not a long board you might struggle more if your on a long board well if you need help with surfing or any thing related to surfing then just give my channel a visit and you’ll have a anser in no timeat al

If you learn to just cruise a skateboard, no tricky poop, you can be very successful at learning balance and turning ability of the surfboard. Some of the new skateparks (San Jose) are actually better than surfing cuz you can draw such quality lines any time you want, much like the shapely swell of the decade or what you see in the magazines
Use what best feel comfortiable to you when standing up on the board. Once you get it down it is easy.

@tghooker depends what board your on if your on a shorter board you can duckdive but on a longer board it is pretty hard

i’m just learning , having problems with getting out to waves. what is the best way to get through a wave that is very tall. much taller then the ones in this vid.
