Q&A: Can anybody help me choosing the best places to stay in Indonesia?
My friends and I are planning to visit Indonesia to have a vacation, While surfing the net I found these interesting places.
This would be the first time to visit there, please help me Thanks.

Bali is a cool place to visit while your there. I’d stay away from the big tourist places and visit the out of the way places.

Hi yeah I’ll agree with the other guy head to Bali.Take a pick from the web sites listed below for good accommodation and surf the real stuff in Bali

Bali is indonesia’s pride…
though i think its quite too pricey for the local ones…
try to visit some other cool places in indonesia…
like trawas or yogyakarta…
its also cool…
but if i were you, i would choose bali for sure…
those things that ive mentioned is just the other possible options

you have to tell me what is it that you like and want.
Jakarta for night life and all the cosmopolitans (++ if you know what i mean)
Komodo island to see the giant komodo dragon (only in Indonesia)
also from komodo island you can experience diving (5 star diving sites)
Bogor city to see the biggest flower in the world, the rafflesia arnoldi (2 m height)
Kalimantan Island if you like forestry and river adventure
Bali, Yogyakarta and Solo for traditional and culture.
Indonesia have 3 time zone you know, even more variety then the US, Russia, India and China when you talking about tradition culture etc. So better do your research before you go to Indonesia. It’s so big, i bet even Indonesian have not been to all the islands

what you mention above.. much of them are batams hotel..
and i’m Batam(ese) ^.^;
if you are really interested to go to a place that is cheaper than Bali..
i think the second place to choose is Batam..
why?
coz batam got a lot of interesting place… for example… (marina city?) a place where you can swim on the beach..
but i suggest you go to harris resort or batam view..
those two places are so named in Batam..
i never been there…
but i heard lot of my friends said that “there’s a lot of fun there”
that’s all..

those hotels above are quite class..
but if you want to go to one of those hotels..
better choose planetholiday hotels (5*)
but much better if you choose to stay in Harris Resort or Batam View..
that’s what my opinion..

If you’re in Bali…and depending on how many friends yo have… you may find that renting a private villa may be more cheaper.

* Bali – awesome for its beaches especially if you love snorkeling and diving. There are crowded areas and more secluded ones. Check on google for Bali, it’s got a lot of information.
* Lombok – a more secluded and quieter beach resorts
* Some areas in Java like Bandung and Jogjakarta
* Not worth visiting Batam.
