Question: Do most people in California know how to ride a surf board?
I am going to California to visit my Aunt Judy in March and I need to know what do I have to know about Ca to fit in. They say they talk different than Texas, so what is some things they say different and what do they mean? I don’t want her to think I am stupid.

Most big cities in CA are just like Dallas TX their is a lot of really nice people in CA and some are very friendly.
Most have never rode a surf board, and do not wear shorts and halter tops.
It gets about as cold in the winter in CA as it does in Texas.
There is like 3 California’s
Southern california with beaches and warm weather and a more playful population. Movie stars and beaverly hills and lots of night life.
Then there is the central san Joaquin valley where it is a farming community and they are just country folks that grow food for the world.
Most of them especially Bakersfield are all from Oklahoma. They are friendly and love to talk to tourists.
Then there is Northern California that is mountains and cold and is like Colorado, some people don’t know this but it snows in California because they have some of the highest mountains in the country.
Then Death Valley is the hottest lowest place in the country.
California has everything every other state has. The beaches of Louisiana and the bourbon street play houses, in the coasts of San Francisco and deserts and from one extreme to the other it is a state of contrasts. enjoy your visit but be sure to see Montery fish acquarium and glass bottom boats and remember people are the same everywhere if your friendly they will be friendly.
Any clothes is acceptable, any language is understood by someone.
I lived there for a while and it was a great place to live.

My vacation there was amazing, it is like a whole other country.
Just enjoy the happy people and the toursits attractions.
