Q&A: Do you have info on Wireless Broadband in Israel?
I avoided this site for a while now b/c of the rabid Israel bashers, but I really need info on the cost of unlimited data packages (for a USB broadband modem -OR- a wireless connect card) offered by Cellcom. I already know what the cost of Surf n’ Save packages are, thanks. Sane responses only, please.
tzookb – Thanks at least for the honesty. I laughed at the part about using his neighbor’s connection, though. What I need is for business use, though, so that won’t quite work….

Assuming I got what you are asking, several coffee shops offer FREE wireless broadband, in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv,
Usually there’s a big sign saying that.

Many companies will lend / give you the ADSL modem for free.
All the ISP’s and Bezeq offer different connect speeds ranging from 256kb to 2.0+ meg
The middle price (750kb) monthly fees are about:
Bezeq () + ISP () = per month
I strongly recommend purchasing PC Firewall software for your computer and anti-virus software.
Each one costs about – (available also from the Internet)
Before choosing an ISP you may want to ask friends for recommendations.
However, I would strongly suggest not to sign on for a long term commitment.
If you can not get ADSL service (wiring problems or distance to a Bezeq telephone switch/center) you can also consider getting fast Internet via your cable TV company. I do not use such a service so I can not give any advice about it. My friends tell me that it is good and the prices are almost the same as ADSL.
