Q&A: where do i find a surf shop in california?
i am new to surfing. i am 5 11 and 132 pounds and skinny.i want to buy a board for myself but were to start?i dont know of any surf shops here in california.i live in montclair,ca near pomona and ontario.can u help me find a surf shop please?thank u.

That’s like asking where to find a soldier at Fort Hood. ….Just kidding. I am glad to hear you are seeking out face to face contact with surfing experts to get started. Here is the one time a computer will really be helpful. Go on any search engine and look up surf shops, you’ll hit on hundreds. Also, go to my favorite surfing site: surfline.com. Good luck, sorry I can’t provide a better answer, but I’m sure someone out there will.

it sounds like youre joking as there must be lots of surfshops nearby,main street in huntington is full of them and most of them sell online if you dont want to go to the beach, buy a used board the first few times til you figure out a design that best suits your ability and style, in the beginning something thats easy to paddle is important as the more waves you can catch the more experience youll get

Go to where the Santa Monica Freeway meets Pacific Coast Highway go south and stay on P C H all the way to San Clemente. there are 200 shops along that stretch of 55 miles or so. if you turn up all the main streets you get to you can add another 50 or so if you get out and walk around in the downtown areas of the older cities along (pier avenues like HB you’ll find 15 within four square blocks and five on the outskirts) And you still might not find what you want. But you’ll get your fill of board shops.
