Awesome, awesome video! One of the many you do though, of course. :P
I totally agree with you and sun protection and how vital it is. I don’t know if you’ve watched any of mine but I’m super pale and I just had to do a sunscreen video on youtube here too. It’s too important with the huge risk of skin cancer out there. I agree with you on so many points in this video. I’ll never understand why people want to bake themselves…I personally love my pale pale skin, and yours is very lovely too. :)

    shiseido sunscreen is <333
it is the only sunscreen i use bc it doesn’t smell icky like other ones and i can’t feel it at all! plus its water resistant (downside is you have to wash it off with a cleansing oil). but mostly i love it bc i used to nvr wear sunscreen due to the smell and greasy feel.

I have a question, since you are also a glass wearer. Whenever I wear makeup in my nose area over my sunscreen, it all transfers onto my frames. I am religious and wear high spf everyday, and I really don’t want to stop doing it because I want my makeup to look good. Is there any way to stop that ?
PS: Thanks for telling people to use sunscreen & protect their skin. You’re great :)

Too true, and I worry about that when I buy sun protection products. The thing that kills me is MOST people don’t have problems with titanium dioxide, and it’s not more widely used….

Hey, Cora… awesome personality btw. Anyways, I’m a total sun screen fanatic myself. I recently learned about a couple of chemical sun screens that you should definitely research about considering how adament you are about sun care.

Most commercial sun screens contain avonbenzon, oxybenzone, octisalate, etc–these actually interfere with one’s body chemistry and can cause free radicals when exposed to illumination. Look it up on wikipedia and try environmental working group.

awesome video!!! I wanna go into dermatology after graduating from med school, and I have been nagging everyone about using sunscreen. And all I hear is “but I want a nice dark tan” and “come on, I´m not gonna use suncreen unless I´m laying out in the sun”
I also use Retin-A to fade my hyerpigmentation and as an anti-aging product. My skin tolerates is very well and it´s been amazing for me. If we had Sephora in my country I would totally buy that sunscreen kit!

You have 27…..But to be honest with you, you need a lot of product to get that 27, and most people don’t use that much foundation on their faces. So really, you have 15. also, 27 is a weird number for a sun protection Factor.

    Hi vintageortacky,
I’ve been wondering for a while now, if I have a moisturizer that has SPF 15 and foundation with SPF 27 does it mean that I have SPF 42 on my face? Or is it just SPF 27? Please let me know if you have any any clue.

I’ve never tried any of the aveeno lotions. BUT the one I think I mentioned in an annotation, Neutrogena Ultra dry touch with helioplex is AMAZING!

I’m sorry to hear about your burns! My skin hurt just reading that. I’m glad your a sunblock freak now! It makes me so sad the people who still tan tho. Not only are you aging your skin prematurely, and who wants that, but you’re putting yourself at greater risk for skin cancer….c’mon people!

    natesmom2244

I completely agree. 3 years ago i was at a beach in england all day long, england is not known for “sun” therefore i wore NO sunscreen and a few hours later i had 2nd degree burns all over my arms, chest & shoulders. it blistered and scabbed over and i was stuck in the house for 3 weeks, not able to wear clothes ,i couldn’t sleep or even move my arms to brush my hair! it was horrible and ever since that i have also been a sunblock freak!!!

  23. 23
    vintageortacky

Yes, it is damaging. especially if you burn super easy. Not only are you putting your self at risk for sun cancer, you’re aging your skin prematurely. Even with sun protection on, you’ll still get a little color. there are SO many self-tanners and bronzers out there, don’t ruin your skin. please do no “lay out” or tan.

    DropDeadKateee

Ok I have a question kind of. I’m really fair and I burn super easy. I wear sunscreen, not year round but most of the year. I do like to catch some colour in the summer from the sun. How is the right way to do it. Like gradually only laying out for small amounts of time? I just want to know if its really damaging to my skin for me to tan outside at all?

    vintageortacky

yikes! I’m here in California, and I live by the beach, not bragging…but there’s a lot of outdoors-ness being had, if you know what I mean.
